This moment here is big for me, alright?

April and Irma are hiding. April si trying to figure out where to go because all the Foot has to do is turn the corner and they’ll find them. Even if they run the Foot could still find them. She needs to think of something and think fast.

Then she spots the manhole cover. And here is where I applaud the animators.

You can see her eyes widen when she sees it. She knows where she can go to get to safety. But then you see her contemplate it, as though thinking’do I dare?’. Why? Because she’d have to bring Irma with her. She’d have to expose the Turtles if she wants to save her friend. She’d be breaking the trust that Splinter had given her. It’s different with Casey, eh followed Raph to the Lair so that wasn’t her fault. But Irma learning the secret which could (and did) have disastrous results most certainly be due to what she chose to do, and her expression makes that clear. Kudos to you animators!

And even when April makes her choice, you can still see the uncertainty as she removes the manhole. She knows that she’s breaking the unspoken taboo, but she’s going to do it. To save her friend. To warn the guys that the Foot is on the move. She couldn’t have predicted what ended up happening, she thinks that she’s protecting a friend and that it’ll be okay in the end.

April gives me so many feelings you have no idea.

What I don’t understand is she didn’t have to bring Irma to the lair. April probably knows the sewers pretty well at this point and could have brought Irma to the one close to her home, checked to see if it was clear and sent Irma on her way before going to the lair. I mean The Foot wasn’t after Irma for any reason other than she was there. What April did made zero sense.

As usual, I can never get serious about a fic because I always get other plot bunnies nosing in while I’m trying to write. I have a notebook of them. Only about half are OCs, which I pretty much refuse to write. Or if I do any scribbles about them I never post them.

What if Splinter rounded up some of the mutant friends and maybe some surviving humans and formed a new base in the city.  Like Sir Malichi and Pigeon Pete, maybe he finds and helps Leather Head.  Maybe he finds Kurtzman, and goes to find Murakami.  What if Karai started coming to herself and semi-joined them.  What if they were waiting for the turtles, April, and Casey to return.

This would be such a fun fic.  Too bad I’m never gonna write it.  If someone out there writes it, Let me know I wanna read it.

“some historians think that michelangelo was drawing god in a human brain. very few people knew what one looked like at the time; but michelangelo had dissected cadavers and would have known. it even has the hint of a brain stem. if true this would have been a great “fuck you” to the pope whom he was not friendly with but also would have meant god was in a human brain, or created by man.”

Interesting.

also michelangelo painted a baby angel flipping off the pope

image

the blond one, you see his right hand? that’s called the fig and it’s an old world european gesture for ‘fuck you” because apparently Pope Juluis II was a total raging asshole and everyone hated him

but nobody ever noticed this little fucker because the ceiling was so high

and then thirty years later they called michelangelo back to paint the wall behind the altar and he wasted no time in painting the gates of hell behind the pope’s chair

what a badass

It amuses me to this day how much Michelangelo hated his job

That´s because Michelangelo considerate himself an sculptor, not a painter or an architect:

This happens wen you send Michelangelo to make a stairway. It fills the entire room.
